Rays vs. Rangers, in "biggest game"
The Rays are preparing for what 3B Evan Longoria called "the biggest game of the year" as they try to even the best-of-five division series with the Rangers.
RHP James Shields will be on the mound for the Rays, trying to live up to his Big Game nickname.
Manager Joe Maddon is considering another change to his lineup, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him sit down struggling 1B Carlos Pena against Texas lefty C.J. Wilson and play Ben Zobrist at first.
There also was some question after Wednesday's game if Rocco Baldelli would be able to play today as planned. If Baldelli, who is still somewhat limited by an illness that causes muscle fatigue, can't play, the Rays could take him off the roster and replace him with Willy Aybar, but Baldelli would be ineligble for the next series if the Rays advance.
Minor-league C Nevin Ashley is here to work out with the team serve as an extra catcher if needed as Dioner Navarro opted to go home after being left off the roster.
