UPDATE, 3:45: No lineup in Rays clubhouse yet, for what that's worth.
DEVELOPING:
Apart from the trade deadline, it's a big day for the Rays as they can pull back into a tie for first place with another win over the Yankees tonight. Matt Garza, in his first start since Monday's no-hitter, will be on the mound for the Rays against New York's Javier Vazquez, who's been on a pretty good roll of his own.
B.J. Upton is expected to be in the lineup again for the Rays, and Ben Zobrist not as he deals with lingering back stiffness. The bullpen will have a different look, with Chad Qualls expected to be here by game time and Grant Balfour on the DL.
The Rays start the day 64-38, one game behind the Yankees. The Rays led the AL East from April 22 to June 19, then fell as much as four games back after losing on July 23 at Cleveland.
