Rays will turn back the clock Aug. 13 with Village People
The Rays will have a turn-back-the-clock kind of night on Aug 13, when the Orioles visit Tropicana Field. Both teams will wear uniforms circa 1970 and the Village People will perform a post-game concert. It will be the eighth "Turn Back the Clock" game in Rays history.
Tampa Bay will wear the uniforms of the 1970 Tampa Tarpons of the Florida State League and the Orioles will wear all orange uniforms worn twice in 1971, the season that produced an unprecedented quartet of 20-game winners in Jim Palmer, Dave McNally, Mike Cuellar and Pat Dobson.
At all Friday games, themed as Friday Fests presented by Captain Morgan, the first 10,000 fans will receive a collectible T-shirt presented by the St. Petersburg Times. Friday Fests will also include drink and food specials, including the Captain Morgan Blue Storm, special prize giveaways and the Center Field Shuffle, in which all fans will be permitted to walk across the field and exit through the centerfield gate.
