Rays win arbitration case vs. Upton
UPDATE, 6:21: Upton was disappointed, but ready to move on. "I thought we put on a good case, but they ruled the way they did. Congratulations to the Rays. Now it's time to put all this behind me, hit spring training and get ready to play baseball.''
Rays executive VP Andrew Friedman said: "Today officially marks the end of the arbitration process for us this year. We had a lot of eligible players (12) and we're happy to have it behind us and and be able to focus solely on getting ready for the season.''
DEVELOPING: The Rays won their arbitration case against CF B.J. Upton, meaning he'll make $3-million this season rather than the $3.3-million he sought.
The Rays are now 5-0 in arbitration cases, including 4-0 under executive VP Andrew Friedman.
