Rays at Yankees, the finale - for now

UPDATE, 4;25: Rays lineup has Baldelli making first start in right, Zobrist at first and Aybar at DH. The lineup: Upton cf, Bartlett ss, Crawford lf, Longoria 3b, Zobrist 1b, Baldelli rf, Aybar dh, Shoppach c, Rodriguez 2b, Price p

DEVELOPING: The Rays and Yankees meet for the 18th and final time of the regular season tonight, with a rematch of the instant classic pitching matchup of David Price and CC Sabathia.

There is a lot on the line for the Rays tonight, starting with the opportunity to get back within one-half game of the AL East lead, with 10 games remaining after tonight, and the advantage of a softer schedule. The Rays are also playing to secure the tiebreaker based on season series should they and the Yankees finish with the same record, as the Rays lead 9-8.

And while the Rays and Yankees will play the Twins and Rangers - in some combination - in the first round of the playoffs, they are also posturing for a potential ALCS meeting, which is where homefield advantage would come into even more play, which is why there is a premium on winning the AL East.

1B Carlos Pena is scheduled to be on the bench again tonight, with Ben Zobrist likely at first. Kelly Shoppach is scheduled to be behind the plate.
