ST. PETERSBURG -- About a dozen scalpers are working in a designated area outside of Tropicana Field. A couple of them said they have tickets for $100 to $200 each. But if the Rays win tomorrow night, they said, prices will go up to between $125 and $300 per ticket.
The area between gates 5 and 6 at the Trop is a designated ticket-selling area. However, the heaviest ticket-selling action has been on the Internet, with some sellers asking for thousands per ticket.
Scalping is now legal in Florida, because the state Legislature changed the law that had banned it.
