Schedule for FanFest autograph signing, other activities

18

February

The Rays are holding their annual FanFest on Saturday at Tropicana Field from 10 a.m.-5 p.m, with free admission and parking.

Autographs from Rays players and coaches are available free to season-ticket holders and kids 14 and under; for others it’s a $40 donation to charity. Proceeds from that and other events benefit the Rays Baseball Foundation, the families of slain St. Petersburg police offers Thomas Baitinger and Jeffrey Yaslowitz, the ALS Association and the Salvation Army Centers in St. Petersburg, Tampa and Bradenton.

While most of the players and coaches will be there, their biggest new name, Manny Ramirez, is not on the schedule so it’s uncertain if he’ll show (it’s not a mandatory event), and Johnny Damon will greet early arrivers but has to leave before the signing sessions due to a prior commitment . A lunch with manager Joe Maddon sold out on Friday, raising $10,000.

Among other events are a "yard sale" of game-used and autographed bats, baseballs, jerseys, batting helmets and lineup cards, champagne bottles from 2008 playoff celebrations, game tickets from Matt Garza’s no-hitter and autographed clubhouse player nameplates, plus one-foot squares of FieldTurf and clubhouse carpet from the 2020 playoff clinching celebration for $25.

There will also be panel discussions, and stations with players reading to kids, high-fiving kids running the bases, calling friends of fans, and playing Guitar Hero and MLB 2K11. Also, 40 former major-leaguers will be signing autographs for free, and there will be batting cages, speed pitch, wiffle ball, steal home, national anthem auditions, panel discussions, kids-only clubhouse tour and press conference.

Here are the schedules, which the Rays stress are subject to change.
