Scott snaps streak at 0-for-41 with homer
Rays DH Luke Scott snapped his team-record 0-for-41 streak - which dated back to July 1 - with a two-run homer in the fifth inning on Friday.
Scott broke and extended the team mark with an 0-for-3 on Thursday, and came into play Friday at 0-for-39, seven shy of the major-league record of 0-for-46 set last year by Eugenio Velez.
After striking out in his first two at-bats Friday, Scott drive a ball to rightfield that just cleared the yellow stripe and hit atop the wall for a home run.
