Soriano deal to be official today

Top Rays officials will meet with the media at 12:30 today at which time they are expected to officially announce the acquisition of closer Rafael Soriano from the Braves, and that he has agreed to a contract for just more than $7-million.

Among the likely topics will be how Soriano's addition changes the look of their bullpen, how it effects the other pitchers, what impact it has on their 2010 and future payrolls and whether it will require any other moves.

The Rays also have to decide by Saturday night if they aren't going to tender contracts to any of their players, with OF Gabe Gross and C Dioner Navarro - who are both arbitration eligible - the most likely topics of conversation.
