Sox set rotation for opening series
The Rays will need their lefthanded hitters on opening day as the Red Sox announced today that RHP Josh Beckett will pitch the April 6 matinee. That means it's likely Gabe Gross will be in rightfield and switch-hitter Ben Zobrist in center. RHP James Shields will start for the Rays.
The Sox will use LHP Jon Lester for game two, against LHP Scott Kazmir. And RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka will pitch the third game against RHP Matt Garza.
