DEVELOPING: The Rays open a four-game series tonight in Oakland against the A's, and at least they won't have to deal with the heat as they did in Kansas City. If anything, it might be a little chilly tonight - it's in the high 60s and sunny now, and forecast to be in the mid-50s by the end of the night.

RHP Jeremy Hellickson will be on the mound, seeking to become the first rookie in the majors with 10 wins. If he gets there, he'd be the first in the AL to have 10 by the end of July since 2007 when Daisuke Matsuzaka - who was a pro in Japan before coming to the majors - did so for Boston.

The Rays will see a familiar face on the other side, as reliever Grant Balfour signed with the A's during the off-season.
