For starters, Rays at Phillies, with Jennings back
Update 12:09 p.m. Manager Joe Maddon said RHP Fernando Rodney (forearm) should be fine with just a few days rest, though it was a pretty nasty line drive he got hit by in Wednesday's game. Maddon said it shouldn't impact Rodney's availability for Opening Day.
*SS Reid Brignac will come off the bench today in the later innings and get to play in his first big-league exhibition since injuring his right foot Mar 15 against the Phillies. He said he felt so good in the past few minor league games he told Maddon he was ready to get back in there. The pain in his foot, hampered by a plantar fasciitis issue, is tolerable.
*Maddon said the decision on who the extra outfielder will be could come down until the end of camp, with OFs Jesus Feliciano and Jeff Salazar among the candidates.
UPDATE, 8:06: Desmond Jennings is back on the field, batting leadoff and playing center, where he will shift in B.J. Upton's absence.
Here is the lineup:
BREAKING: The Rays are heading up to Clearwater for a 1:05 game at scenic Bright House Field and will have Jeremy Hellickson on the mound.
Hellickson, named Wednesday the No. 3 starter, has had a rough spring and said of today's outing: "I need to start doing what I'm going to do in the first game of the season.''
The Rays are scheduled to bring all position players except injured B.J. Upton and Sam Fuld.
