For starters, Rays at Pirates
FINAL UPDATE, 4:20: Rays win, 2-1. Shields went 6 innings and looked sharp, allowing four hits and throwing only 67 pitches. Scott had two hits, including his first homer and said he will definitely be ready for opening day. Pena had his first hit of the spring, a triple.

UPDATE, 12:01: B.J. Upton said he is feeling better, but Maddon said there is still soreness, especially when he tries to swing. Tuesday seems to be the new target date for his return, and with the Rays going cross-state to Jupiter it could be an option for him to play in a minor-league game. ... Scott is hitting leadoff to get 3 at-bats, and just for a different look. .. Maddon on Andy Pettitte's return to the Yankees: "Interesting.'' Maddon said he doesn't know Pettitte but has heard very good things about him: "When I read that I thought one of the main off-shoots is him in that clubhouse is probably a good thing for the Yankees." ... Maddon said there have been no sunburn casualties among the newly bald.
UPDATE, 10:32: The Rays 3-9-3 start is their third worst through 15 spring games, having been 1-14 in 2007 and 3-11-1 in 2003. ... Relievers Fernando Rodney, Joel Peralta, Burke Badenhop, J.P. Howell will throw in minor-league games today in Port Charlotte.

BREAKING: Opening day starter James Shields will be on the mound for the Rays today as they take on the Pirates in Bradenton.
Of note, Luke Scott is in the leadoff spot as the Rays want to get him more at-bats after he missed the first week of games. And Joe Lobaton is behind the plate as the Rays have to decide on their other catcher to complement Jose Molina.
The Rays are 3-9-3 this spring and have yet to have their projected team on the field together.
