The Rays and Red Sox meet tonight in a nationally televised ESPN game with a couple of obvious story lines, starting with the first official encounter with Carl Crawford, plus the same for Dan Wheeler, the return to Boston of Johnny Damon and fallout from the Manny Ramirez retirement. There also is one quite unexpected story line. as the Red Sox are 2-7 and the Rays 1-8.

AL Rookie of the Year candidate Jeremy Hellickson will be on the mound for the Rays, making his second start, and veteran Daisuke Matsuzaka for the Red Sox.
