For starters, Rays-Sox looking to split



UPDATE, 1:40: Bradford remains hopeful the back issue is minor, and the Rays are thinking he could be back in the minimum two weeks.
Thayer - who shaved the mustache that got so much attention last time he was up - may be used in short or multi-inning roles.

LHP Brian Shouse is to pitch tonight for Class A Charlotte, and again Friday, and if all goes well he could rejoin the Rays on Monday for the Yankees series.

NEWS: The Rays are getting ready for today's matinee finale in Chicago in a battle of lefties.

They have Chad Bradford on the DL and Dale Thayer in the bullpen today.
