For starters, Rays vs. Angels, with Joyce
The Rays return home for a six-game homestand, starting with tonight's game against the Angels.
Right-hander James Shields will get the start, thanks to a tweak in the rotation, making him able to pitch twice in this homestand.
Looks like there's a Rays rehab report filled with players on the field early this afternoon, with SS Jason Bartlett (sprained ankle) playing catch - an long-toss - with OF Fernando Perez (left wrist). Looks like a good sign with Bartlett moving to the infield to get some work in.
Bartlett took some throws at second from SS Reid Brignac, and is now taking ground balls.
Manager Joe Maddon has said Bartlett won't be ready to come off the DL when he's eligible Wednesday.
In other news, the Rays agreed to terms with right handed relief pitcher Jorge Julio, who will join Durham tomorrow.
To make room, RHP Chad Orvella was released.
