For starters, Rays vs Jays
Update: 7:24 p.m. The Rays minor league prospects who won the annual awards, including OF Desmond Jennings and RHP Jeremy Hellickson, just had their on-field ceremony and got to chat with some players.
Manager Joe Maddon said that unless there's an injury on his current roster, he doesn't see any other Durham players getting called up before the end of the season. With the Bulls, the Governor's Cup champs, having to play in the Triple-A national championship next Tuesday, that would leave just around 10 Rays games left, and Maddon said they don't want to call them up just for the sake of calling them up.
Maddon also said that while they've thought about scaling back the outings for Matt Garza and James Shields, who are at 185 innings and 198 2/3 inning respectively, he doesn't think they'll necessarily shut them down.
Maddon said that RHP Wade Davis will make another start, though he'll probably be on longer rest after throwing 124 pitches in his complete-game shutout Thursday night.
The Rays return after a disastrous road trip to begin a five-game homestand, starting tonight against the Jays.
Right-hander James Shields will get the start on the mound, and Gregg Zaun will be behind the plate.
Here is the Rays lineup:
