For starters, Rays vs Jays
Updates 4:54 p.m. Some medical updates from the clubhouse:
*LHP J.P. Howell (shoulder weakness) continues to be encouraged by his progress, having thrown from 120 feet today and feeling good. He said the next step is his first bullpen session, which could be either Monday or Wednesday.
*OF Matt Joyce (elbow strain) said there was some good news and bad news to come out of his visit with noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Alabama. He was encouraged that there was no tears, and no surgery required. But the fact he has to rest for 3-4 weeks (no hitting or throwing) is still a bit frustrating considering how much he wants to get on the field.
Developing: The Rays return home after a very successful (9-1) road trip, and will host the Jays to start a nine-game stretch at Tropicana Field.
RHP Matt Garza will start, looking to go 4-0 on the season. Ben Zobrist, fresh off signing his five-year contract extension, will be at second base.
