For starters, Rays vs Jays
Update 5:20 p.m. SS Jason Bartlett, who fielded ground balls and took batting practice Tuesday, said his strained right hamstring is feeling "a lot better" and believes he'll be ready to return from the disabled list Tuesday in Atlanta.
Manager Joe Maddon said there's a solid chance of that happening, and that there's been no setbacks.
*Of the lineup, Maddon continues to move things around, but said Upton will be leadoff tonight and tommorrow against Shaun Marcum. He said Rodriguez is second because of his much improved at-bats, which he said have been as good recently as they were in spring training.
OF Carl Crawford is just getting back to back days off, something Maddon typically does following an off day
*Maddon said C Kelly Shoppach is getting close to being able to catch a full nine inning game.
Update 4:06 p.m. The Rays roll out an interesting lineup, with no Carl Crawford, B.J. Upton in the leadoff spot and Sean Rodriguez in the two-hole.
Developing: The Rays are back at Tropicana Field to open a six-game homestand, beginning tnight against the Blue Jays.
While the executives and scouts are still busy with the second day of the draft, there's also some early action on the field, with SS Jason Bartlett (on the DL with a hamstring strain) taking some ground balls at short, along with Willy Aybar.
RHP Jeff Niemann will take the mound tonight for the Rays. It'll be interesting to see who will be batting leadoff against Jays lefty Brian Tallet.
Lineups to come.
