UPDATE, 12:50: The Jays scratched CF Colby Rasmus due to the flu, and will start Dewayne Wise in center. The bottom four of their order is now  Cooper, Arencibia, Loewen, Wise.

UPDATE, 12:48: Closer Kyle Farnsworth said he felt good the morning after his first appearance in two weeks, and even though he felt a bit of discomfort in his elbow it was not enough to keep him from pitching or cause further concern. He hopes to be available to pitch today. ... Maddon hedged a bit it LHP Matt Moore would be available in relief today, having thrown 84 pitches on Thursday. ... Maddon said if the season continues he would expect RHP Jeff Niemann to be available; Niemann was pulled after one inning on Saturday. ... DH Johnny Damon goes into play today one hit shy of matching Lou Gehrig for 57th place on the alltime hits list at 2,721. ... Maddon said he went with rookie Brandon Guyer in RF and Kelly Shoppach behind the plate because Jays starter Brett Cecil is more of a traditional lefty.

DEVELOPING: The Rays are prepping to host the Blue Jays today in another must-win game to continue their late-season bid to make the playoffs.

The Rays trail the Red Sox by 1 1/2 games for the AL wild-card. With the Rays playing once today and the Red Sox having a day-night doubleheader at Yankee Stadium, the Rays pretty much need two of the three events to go their way.

The Rays will have Wade Davis, coming off a disappointing start in New York, on the mound. With the Jays starting lefty Brett Cecil, the Rays are using rookie Brandon Guyer in rightfield and Kelly Shoppach behind the plate.
