UPDATE, 12:19: Sutton was caught a bit off guard by hitting cleanup, but said once he saw Pena hitting leadoff yesterday he figured all things were possible. But asked what was a bigger reach, he said, "Probably me clean-up.'' ... Maddon doesn't do a pre-game session with the print media on day home games, but it sounds like both Rodriguez and Zobrist were our of the lineup so they could get the benefit of back to back days off. Today ends a stretch of 29 games in 30 days for the Rays.

UPDATE, 11:05: Maddon has another surprise in the lineup today, batting Drew Sutton - who has never hit 3-4-5 in the majors - in the cleanup spot. Carlos Pena is again leading off.

BREAKING: The Rays are wrapping up their homestand with a 1:10 matinee today against the Blue Jays.

The pitching matchup features a battle of aces, the Rays' James Shields and the Jays' Ricky Romero.

The Rays hung on for an 8-5 win last night, and with another win today have a chance to finish their eight-game homestand 4-4.

Shields has been the Rays most reliable pitcher and said he feels comfortable in the role of stopper.
