UPDATE, 12:24: Vogt said he didn't know until this morning that he was going to make his first start. "I saw it on the board and I got excited,'' he said. ... Another loose morning the in the Rays clubhouse, with music blaring and some lively college football banter ... Lost in last night's win, the Rays notched their fifth consecutive winning season; only the Yankees and Phillies have longer current streaks. .. The Rays have scored 43 runs over their four-game winning streak, a team record for four games. The mark for five games is 52.

BREAKING: The Rays are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive by extending their winning streak to five and completing a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays.

The Rays start the day 3 1/2 games behind the A's for the second AL wild-card, 5 1/2 behind the Orioles for the first and 6 1/2 behind the Yankees in the AL East - all with 10 games remaining. The A's play at New York, the Orioles at Boston and the Angels, who are also ahead of the Rays in the wild-card race, host the Rangers.

RHP Jeremy Hellickson will be on the mound for the Rays today, and rookie C Stephen Vogt will make his first start behind the plate.

After Matt Moore went only 2 2/3 innings last night, the Rays figure to be looking for Hellickson to at least get into the sixth today.

The Jays are starting RHP Chad Jenkins, who is making his first major-league start.
