For starters, Rays vs. Orioles
The Rays will go for their fourth straight win tonight when they face the Orioles at Tropicana Field.
RHP Jeremy Hellickson starts on the mound, feeling a lot better than he did Sunday, when he got sick several times in throwing six shutout innings to beat Anaheim.
OF Matt Joyce, who turned 28 Friday, gets the day off today against LHP Wei-Yin Chen, but he's available to pinch-hit.
*Manager Joe Maddon said 3B Evan Longoria (partially torn left hamstring) felt a little sore after Friday's game for Triple-A Durham - his sixth in his rehab assignment - but will play again tonight as DH. Maddon said Longoria will likely be off Sunday and then re-evaluated Monday. Longoria could potentially return sometime during the Jays series (Tues-Thurs).
*DH Luke Scott (oblique strain) said he was "really encouraged" after a second straight day of hitting in the cage, feeling a lot more normal swinging. Scott said a key step will be Sunday, when he hits live BP. Scott said the "best-case scenario" is he has a short rehab assignment after that and returns sometime in the Jays series, but most likely not until the upcoming road trip that starts Friday.
*RHP Jeff Niemann (broken right fibula) will throw a bullpen session today, and will likely start a rehab assignment in the middle of next week. That will be determined after Sunday's session.
