For starters, Rays vs. Orioles
Update 5:35 p.m. C Jose Lobaton, activated off the DL with a left knee sprain, is in the starting lineup, with manager Joe Maddon reiterating the Rays want to take a good look at him the rest of this season, with eyes on what he could potentially do for them next year, too.
Lobaton said he was excited to be back, and feels really good. Maddon said Lobaton may not play nine innings tonight, as his last rehab game was cut short due to rain.
*RHP Andy Sonnanstine was "ecstatic" to be back with the Rays for the first time since late June, saying after the "initial shock" of being back in Triple-A Durham, the more regular work allowed him to work on some things mechanically. Maddon said Sonnanstine will be used in long relief/extra innings, etc.
Update 5:33 p.m. Here's the Rays lineup, plus Orioles
Developing: The Rays, coming off a 4-3 road trip, return to Tropicana Field tonight to begin a nine-game homestand with a series opener against the last-place Orioles.
With a late night flight back to Tampa, the Rays are expected to make a late arrival to the Trop today, with some around 5 p.m. (skipping batting practice). LHP David Price, who had taken an earlier flight ahead, will be on the mound for Tampa Bay.
