UPDATE, 12:32: DH Luke Scott took some swings on the field off one fo the coaches today, looking free and easy an unrestricted by the mild oblique strain that landed him on the DL. Scott likely will need at least one other on-field session, then head out for a short rehab assignment so it would seem the soonest he would rejoin the Rays would be next weekend in Minnesota. ... RHP Jeff Niemann is set to begin what looks to be a four-start rehab assignment on Wednesday for Class A Charlotte. ... The Rays plan to re-evalaute 3B Evan Longoria, who has been on rehab at Triple-A Durham, on Monday, with the possibility he could return on Tuesday. ... The Rays haven't won four consecutive series since taking five in a row from mid April to early May.

BREAKING: he Rays are looking to win a fourth straight series today when they take on the Orioles at 1:40 with ace David Price on the mound.

Coming off a 6-3 roadtrip in which they won all three series, the Ryas have split the first two games with the O's.

Offense continues to be lacking. Today the Rays face Baltimore RHP Miguel Gonzalez, whom the hit hard on July 25, winning 10-1.
