For starters, Rays vs. Royals
Update 5:07 p.m. C John Jaso continues to be a hot topic of conversation, as he's back in the starting lineup tonight, and will play at least one of the last two games against the Royals (with Dioner Navarro getting in the other).
Jaso is hitting .455 with nine walks in 10 games, and the Rays are 7-0 when he starts.
"He is just kind of locked in right now," manager Joe Maddon said. "We've got to give him a chance to really run with this and see where it takes him, for him and for us."
*LHP J.P. Howell threw off the mound again today and said he felt really good, taking another step by incorporating changeups into his 32-pitch session today. He said he's scheduled to throw again Monday, with late May still the target return date.
*Maddon said Sean Rodriguez is playing at second today over Reid Brignac because he wanted to get Rodriguez into a game this weekend, and this was the best matchup, against RHP Brian Bannister.
Developing: The Rays are looking to make it six wins in a row and extend their major-league best record to 18-5 in tonight's game against the Royals.
The lineup again includes rookie catching sensation John Jaso, and does not include Reid Brignac, with Sean Rodriguez getting the start at second against Royals righty Brian Bannister.
