For starters, Rays vs White Sox
Update 12:40 p.m. Manager Joe Maddon was encouraged that SS Jason Bartlett's strained right hamstring felt a lot better today, saying it's not as bad as they thought - and they may not even need an MRI. Maddon said it's a day to day thing, but doubts Bartlett will play tommorrow in Toronto.
While Hank Blalock will get most of the starts at DH against right-handers, Maddon said he wanted to get Willy Aybar in the lineup to get him some at-bats, keeping him fresh. He spoke with Blalock, who understood the situation.
Maddon continued to rave about Brignac's play - both offensively and defensively - which makes it easier to take their time with Bartlett's injury.
Update 11:26 p.m., As expected, no Jason Bartlett in the lineup today, with Reid Brignac at shortstop.
Developing: The Rays will finish up a four-game series with the White Sox today at Tropicana Field, before heading out on a six-game road trip.
SS Jason Bartlett, who suffered a mild hamstring strain in last night's game, said he feels a lot better today. He's still likely to be out of the lineup today.
No lineups yet, but we'll keep you posted.
RHP James Shields will start for the Rays, coming off another strong outing.
