For starters, Rays at Yankees

UPDATE, 6:29: Maddon acknowledged it's a bit of a guessing game in doing a lineup against Sabathia, but basically he stuck with lefty-swinging DH Johnny Damon but went with Elliot Johnson at short rather than Matt Joyce in right (with Zobrist going to right and Rodrguez to second). ... While it's obvious the significance of the series, Maddon said he wants the players to maintain their one-day-at-a-time approach.

Yankees lineup:
Jeter ss
Granderson cf
Teixeira 1b
Cano 2b
Swisher DH
Jones RF
Martin c
Nunez 3b
Gardner lf
Sabathia p

UPDATE, 4:59: RHP Alex Cobb has surgery postponed; he had bad reaction to meds, will be re-evaluated Monday in Dallas.
UPDATE, 4:35: Rays lineup:
Jennings lf,
Damon dh,
Longoria 3b,
Zobrist rf,
Upton cf,
Rodriguez 2b,
Kotchman 1b,
Shoppach c,
Johnson ss,
Price p

DEVELOPING: The Rays open a pivotal road trip that seemingly represents their last chance to getback into the postseason race tonight at Yankee Stadium.

LHP David Price, who has been off his game of late, will be on the mound for the Rays. The last Price pitched here was memorable in that he gave up Derek Jeter's 3,000th career hit. Tonight, Price will be taking on Yankees ace CC Sabathia.

This the fifth time the talented lefties have matched up. The Rays have won the previous four, with Price going 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and Sabathia 0-2, 6.00.

The Rays trail the Yankees by 8 1 /2 games for the AL wild-card spot, and the AL East leading Red Sox by 9 1/2, are looking to close the gap by winning both series, and actually may need at least one sweep to make up enough ground.
