For starters, Rays at Yankees, looking for more
UPDATE, 3:02: Maddon said he had different plans for the lineup but Longoria "needed" to DH again so they went with Keppinger at third and Pena at first. Maddon said Longoria is "fine" but that playing in the 14-inning game Thursday (8 at DH, 6 at 3B) did seem to wear on him a bit. ... Rodriguez is off the DL, giving the Rays 36 active players (though really only 35 since Jeff Niemann isn't here), and now the Rays are saying in addition to pinch-running and playing defense he can swing away (despite the fractured right hand), which is probably what they want the Yankees to think if they send him up to bunt. ... Alex Cobb will start Monday vs. Boston and Jeremy Hellickson on Tuesday, but the rest of the 4-game series is TBA as Chris Archer may get a start.
UPDATE, 1:48: Roberts is back in Rays lineup, Longoria is at DH again.
BREAKING: The Rays took some big sighs of relief on Friday night, ending their slide with a 6-4 win over the Yankees and getting ace David Price back on the mound.
Now they are looking for more today, trying to make it two straight and guaranteeing they will at least gain a game for the weekend by winning the series. RHP James Shields, who has been pitching extremely well and is coming off his two-hit shutout of Texas, will be on the mound for the Rays against Yankees RHP Ivan Nova, who makes his first start since coming off the DL.
Rays INF Sean Rodriguez is expected to be activated off the DL, and INF Ryan Roberts may be back in the lineup after missing Friday's game due after bruising his left shin.
