For starters, Rays at Yanks, with things slipping away
UPDATE, 6:21: Maddon said Roberts is "still hurting" and it's unclear if he'll be available at all tonight or to start Saturday. ... The batting change was the result of wanting to "re-arrange the deck chairs" a bit and to clump together Longoria, Upton and Keppinger, who all have good numbers vs. Sabathia. ... With Longoria limited to DH today after playing the field from the ninth inning on Thursday, Maddon said that meant Keppinger would be at third so thus Carlos Pena would play first. .. Maddon said Price won't be on any limits, but is under orders to be honest if anything is wrong. ... Maddon said they canceled batting practice as much so the players could get an emotional/mental break and come in later. A few arrived as late at 5 p.m.
UPDATE, 5:11: Roberts is not in Rays lineup, and the order is a bit different with Upton clean-up.
BREAKING: Having been swept by the Orioles and knocked a season-high four games out of a playoff spot, the Rays try - and perhaps, need - to get back on track tonight at Yankee Stadium, with David Price back on the hill opposing CC Sabathia.
Price, who missed his last start due to shoulder soreness, said there will be no limitations or concerns tonight, though manager Joe Maddon did make him promise to report if anything didn't feel right.
The Rays have a couple of lineup questions, primarily the availiability of 2B Ryan Roberts, who left Thursday's game with a bruised left shin.
The Yankees, who got in late from Boston, are not taking full batting practice on the field today.
Lineups when available.
