Tampa Bay Rays fans eat pizza, gather in Denver
There was a fair amount of blue and white along Stout Street in downtown Denver this afternoon as restaurant owner / sports prognosticator John Keiley hosted Rays fans at his new establishment, My Pizza Peel.
Keiley is the man who made the front page last summer when he decided to back the Rays in a huge way, painting their logo on the front window of his original establishment, Johnny's New York Pizza in suburban Lakewood, and offering free pies if the Rays - obviously huge longshots at the time - won the World Series.

When they got to the Series and lost, he decided to host Rays fans during the middle game of this series. Several clusters of Rays fans came by during lunch hour, along with Rays radio announcers Andy Freed and Dave Wills, and The Heater crew.
One large group was essentially a family reunion of current and former St. Petersburg residents. Michelle and Lucas DeVicente came from St. Petersburg to visit her sister, Claire Bailey, and boyfriend Bryan Eichler, who moved to Denver, and after seeing a mention of Keiley's offer in Sunday's Times, brought the whole group downtown for lunch. They also had their cousin, Eric Lane, visiting from St. Petersburg, and former residents Amy and Buzz David, who now live in Texas.
"This is very cool,'' Claire said.
