Tampa proclaims Tuesday "David Price Day"
UPDATE, 11:25: Rays pitcher David Price will be honored Tuesday for winning the American League Cy Young Award with a day in his name and a key to the city - in Tampa. Noting Price is a resident, Mayor Bob Buckhorn said he will present the key at a David Price Day ceremony 2 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall Plaza (behind the Tampa Municipal Office Building, 306 E Jackson St.). The public is invited. Price had funny reactions on Twitter, including 'With the key to the city … I'll be opening chic fil a on Sundays!!!!' St. Petersburg officials, who have taken a hard-line stand on the Rays stadium issue, have shared no such plans to honor Price, who presumably won't need their permission to thank Buckhorn.
