Three Rays minor leaguers suspended for violating drug program
Three Tampa Bay Rays minor leaguers with Class-A Bowling Green (2B Ryan Brett, P Charles Cononie and P Justin Woodall) have been suspended for violating the minor league drug prevention and treatment program.
The three each tested positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine and will receive a 50-game suspension.
"The Tampa Bay Rays are very disappointed by the conduct of these players," the Rays said in a statement. "We fully support minor league baseball's drug testing program and its corresponding programs for educating players on the dangers of performance enhancing drugs."
