Tigers vs. Rays, seeking the three-game sweep ... Rocco plays catch, doesn't shave

Rocco Baldelli returned to the Rays locker room this morning, but he had yet to speak with medical personnel about his expected return to the team. His day's activity consisted of playing catch for seven minutes with pitcher Andy Sonnanstine and taking a boat load of grief over his ever-lengthening beard.

Reliever Troy Percival swore he would roll a volleyball with "Wilson" written on it onto the field during Baldelli's first at-bat, a reference to Tom Hanks' look in Castaway.

Someone said Baldelli used to look like Jesus, but was now more of an Abraham Lincoln. A few braids, someone else interjected, and he could be Jack Sparrow.

The lineups as the Rays try to reduce their magic number for winning the American League East to 49 games.
