Tonight, Montgomery is Wrigley's field
UPDATE, 6:50: Wrigley is taking it all well, based on these quotes relayed by Biscuits PR man Joe Davis:
"Not sure what to expect, but excited to see how it all goes through,'' Wrigley said. "This is just for fun basically, so I'm not too worried about it. I know I'm gonna get a lot of crap from the players and the fans, but I signed up for it.''
UPDATE, 4:11: Turns out there's more - here's a pretty funny "compatibility" video the Biscuits did to promote the event.
DEVELOPING: Some minor league promotions can be described as clever and some are fun and some are silly and some are occasionally controversial (especially if and when Mike Veeck is involved).
And then there's this one being held tonight in Montgomery, Ala., home of the Rays Double-A affiliate.
It's probably better just to let the team press release explain it, but the basic premise is that for Ladies Night, there is a contest to "win a date" with Henry Wrigley, a 24-year-old infielder for the Biscuits (hitting .261 with 7 HRs and 27 RBIs since being promoted from Class A Charlotte) and after filling out questionaires at the gate, the four "finalists" will have to complete in a series on-field promotions.
Here's what the team described the events today:
MEDIA ALERT: Win-a-Date Tonight
Ladies Night features a chance to win a date with Biscuit Henry Wrigley
MONTGOMERY, AL – Tonight is Ladies Night at Riverwalk Stadium as the Biscuits take on the Chattanooga Lookouts at 7:05. Among the events will be a competition to win a date with Biscuits infielder Henry Wrigley.
Participants will fill-out questionnaires near the main gate. The four ladies whose answers most closely match Henry's tastes will advance to a tournament of on-field promotions, scheduled as follows:Semifinal 1: End of 2nd (Sumo)
Semifinal 2: End of 4th (Tug of War)
Final: End of 6th (Medieval Madness)
The promotion has been featured by MiLB.com as one of the ten best in the minors this week. Ladies Night will also feature speed dating in the Club Car Bar and mini-massages.

And here's how milb.com described it, as one of the top 10 promotions of the week around the minors:
Henry Wrigley is a 24-year-old third-base farmhand in the Tampa Bay organization, now playing for Double-A Montgomery after a scorching start to the season with Class A Advanced Charlotte. Wrigley's also a hot prospect on the local singles scene, thanks to his love of reading, puppies and watching the sun rise. Thursday is "Ladies Night" in Montgomery, highlighted by a "Win a Date with Henry Wrigley" contest. While nothing can top being wined and dined by a real live professional baseball player, there will also be free massages, $5 "Caribbean Cosmos" at the concession stands and speed dating with less exciting, non-professional-baseball-playing local men.
