WS Game 1 on in the Bronx

The day-long rain has stopped, the clouds have moved and actual blue skies were spotted over Yankee Stadium, so it appears Game 1 will be played as scheduled tonight.

"From what I understand the weather is not going to be an issue,'' Yankees manager Joe Girardi just said.

A couple of roster notes:

The Yankees added ex-Ray INF/OF Eric Hinske (who will join Don Baylor as the only players to appear in three consecutive World Series for three different teams) and RHP Brian Bruney, dropping OF Freddy Guzman and third catcher Francisco Cervelli.

The Phillies dropped ex-Ray INF Miguel Cairo and added RHP Brett Myers.
