Duffy, Forsythe out of Rays lineup
SS Matt Duffy and 2B Logan Forsythe are out of the Rays lineup today and considered day to day.
Duffy left Tuesday's game after the third inning due to soreness in his previously strained left Achilles.
He said this morning he was still "sore" but that was to be expected and he is "not concerned" about it being an ongoing problem but part of the tail end of the recovery from the injury he sustained in mid-June.
Plus, he noted that he had played in five straight games since being activated on Friday, but no more than two straight on his rehab assignment.
"Not unexpected, but not discouraged or concerned in any way," Duffy said.
Duffy was on the DL with the Achilles strain when acquired by the Rays from the Giants Aug. 1 as the prime return for Matt Moore.
"The consensus with everybody was to be smart about it, with the off day tomorrow give it one extra day and be ready to go Friday," Duffy said.
Forsythe was scratched from Tuesday's game when his back locked up while he was in the trainer's room, manager Kevin Cash said.
