Escobar leaves game with right hamstring tightness
Rays shortstop Yunel Escobar left Wednesday's game with the Yankees before the seventh inning due to right hamstring tightness, and is considered day-to-day.
Escobar, whose struggling bat has come alive this homestand, was the only Ray to play every inning of every game until the injury. Escobar said he felt a "pull" running to first base on a sixth-inning single, but he was taken out of the game as a 'precaution" and will be re-evaluated today.
Escobar was replaced by Ben Zobrist, who will likely fill in at short if Escobar has to miss any games.
