The Rays activated Brad Miller, who missed 27 games with a groin strain.

As expected, 2B Tim Beckham was placed on the 10-day DL today with a sprained left ankle. The move is retroactive to Thursday, meaning with the All-Star Break included, he could miss only six games if he comes back July 16, the first day he is eligible to return.

Beckham said he doesn’t expect to miss much time.

The Rays activated 2B Brad Miller, who missed 27 games with a groin strain. Miller is at second tonight against Red Sox lefty Drew Pomeranz.

The Rays are looking to take the second game of this four-game series with Jake Odorizzi on the mound. They won the series opener Thursday, 4-1, behind the pitching of rookie Jacob Faria and the bat of C Wilson Ramos, who drove in three runs, including two on a home run off Chris Sale.
