For starters: Last-place Rays at Yankees, end of the road
UPDATE, 1:00: Maddon said Myers will be in the lineup and make his Trop debut on Monday night. ... David Price came into the Trop feeling good this morning and unless something unexpected happens during his bullpen session will make his second rehab start on Wednesday in Port Charlotte.
UPDATE, 12:58: Maddon said starting Kelly Johnson in left and Joyce at DH is part of his efforts to keep Johnson involved, as with Myers in the lineup he basically has to divide playing time for Luke Scott and Johnson, while also trying to keep Sam Fuld and Sean Rodriguez involved. ... Maddon said there's been no decision yet on the rotation past Thursday's off-day. ... Maddon said he made his rare post-game visit to the clubhouse, sitting with relievers Jake McGee and Joel Peralta, and bringing chips and salsa, because he knew how tough they were taking the loss.
DEVELOPING: The Rays are the guests for a festive Old-Timers' Day at Yankee Stadium today, though their primary concern is salvaging a rough roadtrip.
The Rays are 2-4 thus far, having lost two of three in Boston, and two of the first three here to drop into last place in the AL East. And it doesn't get easier when they get home, as they host the red-hot Blue Jays and then the tough Tigers.
Having to start rookies in four of the seven games hasn't helped, and they will turn today to Chris Archer, who had a rough start in Tuesday's doubleheader.
Rookie OF Wil Myers has been a hit, with a .280 average in his first six games and a dramatic grand slam on Saturday.
Lineups when available.
