For starters: Lineups vs Giants and a strange home run stat



ST. PETERSBURG – The Rays wrap up the longest homestand of the season to date this afternoon against the Giants. A win and they clinch their first winning homestand of the season, which is hard to believe since today is Father’s Day.

The Rays are also trying to snap a three-game losing streak and trying to avoid being swept since the ill-fated three games in Kansas City from May 30-June 1.

The stat of the day: On Saturday, according to SABR’s home run expert David Vincent, the Rays infield of Logan Morrison, Logan Forsythe, Brad Miller and Evan Longoria not only occupied the first four spots in the lineup, each of them homered. That is the first time in major league history that combo has happened.

It was also the first time in history the Rays received home runs in the same game by the four infielders.
