For starters, Rays at Cubs, seeking a sweep
UPDATE, 1:19:Today will be a big day for Rays TV man Dewayne Staats, who will lead the crowd in singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the 7th inning stretch. Staats, a former Cubs broadcaster, will also work the top of the 7th inning on WGN.
The Rays made a roster move this morning, activating INF Tim Beckham off the 60-day DL and optioning him to Triple-A Durham.
Among the Rays fans at Wrigley today was Bucs co-chairman Bryan Glazer.
UPDATE, 1:16: The Rays lineup has a slightly different look as manager Joe Maddon said he liked S-Rod over Guyer vs. Wood, and he wanted to keep extra RH on bench. He moved Longoria up to change the look.
DEVELOPING: After beating the Cubs Friday and Saturday, the Rays are back at Wrigley Field again this afternoon sweeping to sweep the series.
And they will do so in their new retro road "fauxback" uniforms - personally designed by principal owner Stuart Sternberg, inspired by the 1978 Padres - as part of the Cubs' throwback event.
RHP Alex Cobb will be on the mound for the Rays, seeking to get back to his top form. The Cubs are starting LHP Travis Wood, which means the Rays likely will use most of their right-handed hitters.
Lineups when available.
