For starters: Rays at Jays, on Blake Snell day
UPDATE, 6:21: The Jays will be without Jose Bautista, who went on the DL after straining his knee on that awkward play in RF on Tuesday. ... Cash said he talked today with Duffy who feels good at the plate and in the field, so it sounds like if all goes well tonight he will indeed join them on Friday. ... Shaffer - who may be the most likely to go when Duffy is activated - said he welcomed the chance to be in the lineup and felt he got in some good work the last few days.
UPDATE, 4:26: Richie Shaffer is getting a start tonight, albeit at DH. for the Rays, who have Brad Miller at first base again. ... Four Rays will be in rehab action tonight, RHP Alex Cobb (Tommy John surgery) and SS Matt Duffy (left Achilles strain) for Triple-A Durham, OF Oswaldo Arcia (right elbow strain) and 1B Logan Morrison (right forearm strain) for the advanced Class A Stone Crabs.
DEVELOPING: Coming off Tuesday's win, the Rays take on the Blue Jays again tonight with a chance to take the series from the AL East contenders.
Rookie LHP Blake Snell, who was made a strong impression with what he's done and how he's done it, will be on the mound for the Rays. LHP J.A. Happ, who shares the majors-lead with 15 wins, is starting for the Jays.
