UPDATE, 12:19: Maddon said the off-days have been good for the team. He has no update on Fuld. He is happy where the team is overall. And he likes the selection of the new pope.
UPDATE, 9:05: INF Tim Beckham is on the travel squad and set to make his return to action for the first time since Friday when he was hit by a thrown ball and needed eight stitches for a cut under his right eye. ... OF Sam Fuld said he is going to test his right hamstring with some more rigorous runnnng today but it may be early next week before he returns to action.
UPDATE, 8:27: Rays lineup, with Johnson in leftield again:
DEVELOPING: The Rays are back in action today after their second off-day of the spring, facing the Orioles in Sarasota.
RHP Jeff Niemann, competing to keep a spot in the rotation, is scheduled to start, and most of the regulars are on the trip.
There should be further updates today on the expected returns of OF Sam Fuld (right hamstring tightness) and INF Tim Beckham (facial laceration).
