DEVELOPING: The Rays are set to open their road schedule tonight in Kansas City, where there is a possibility of late afternoon showers but at least no snow as when they were here last year.

The Rays are coming off a 4-3 opening homestand, ending with a 3-0 loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

The trip marks the second visit back to Kansas City for Rays OF Wil Myers, who was acquired from the Royals in Dec. 2012 and after a June call-up won the AL Rookie of the Year award. Myers, who was traded before making it to the majors, made an appearance here last August for a makeup game in which he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

He said last week while he was excited to see old friends he considered himself more of a Ray anyway.

The Rays won't see ex-mate James Shields, who pitched on Sunday, but may well face Wade Davis, who is being used as the Royals set-up man.
