For starters, Rays at Tigers, with Jennings replacing Kiermaier

UPDATE, 12:05: Jennings is in there today, but Cash said they will mix and match, with Mahtook also getting ample opportunity, and Guyer potentially as well. Also a factor the Rays play the next 18 days in a row. ... Kiermaier headed home for a Monday appointment with Dr. Doug Carlan, which will lead to a decision on suergery and a better timetable, though he seems likely to miss at least two months.

Tigers lineup:
Kinsler 2b,
J Martinez RF,
Cabrera 1b,
V Martinez DH,
Castellanos 3b,
Moya lf,
Maybin cf,
Saltalamacchia c,
Romine ss,
Zimmermann p

DEVELOPING: The Rays face their first day without CF Kevin Kiermaier, and will have Desmond Jennings in centerfield.

How the split the playing time going forward will be an interesting topic of discussion. OF Mikie Mahtook has been called up from Triple-A Durham, and is expected to be here by gametime. OF Brandon Guyer and even Steven Souza Jr. are other potential options.

The Rays will have RHP Chris Archer on the mound today, trying to make good on his committment to be more aggressive from the start of the game, having thrown 30-plus pitches in the first frame in four of his nine outings.

The Tigers are starting RHP Jordan Zimmermann, who has been one of the AL's best.

Here is the Rays lineup, with Corey Dickerson getting a day off:

Guyer lf,
Miller ss,
Longoria 3b,
Pearce 1b,
Souza rf,
Morrison dh,
Jennings cf,
Beckham 2b,
Casali c,
Archer p
