For starters: Rays at Twins, with Longoria hitting 2nd, Pearce at DH
UPDATE, 3:10: Reminder, the game is on FS1 today, not the usual Fox Sports Sun.
UPDATE, 3:06: Cash said he felt more comfortable keeping the flow of the lineup intact than moving someone eles leadoff so that was why he shifted the group up a slot. ... Guyer said he doesn't feel tired, just that he is missing his pitch too often, and Cash said pretty much the same. ... Cash said the idea is to play Pearce at DH and see if he feels good enough to return to 2B on Sunday; he will have to play the field if he wants to participate Monday-Wednesday in Arizona under NL rules.
Here is the Twins lineup:
UPDATE, 12:53: The Rays lineup has a couple of surprises, starting with 3B Evan Longoria hitting second rather than his usual third. Also, Steve Pearce, after being out of the lineup for three days to rest his elbow, is back in as the DH.
DEVELOPING: After ending their five-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the worst-in-the-AL Twins on Friday, the Rays are looking to make it two in a row today, though they may have to beat the rain again.
The tarp is out at Target Field, as heavy afternoon showers are expected, then clearing later.
RHP Matt Andriese, who has been impressive since his early May call-up, will be on the mound for the Rays. RHP Ervin Santana, who has had some very good and very bad starts against the Rays, pitches for the Twins.
INF Steve Pearce, who has not been in the lineup the last three days, may return as the DH today.
Lineups when available.
