For starters: Rays at Twins, looking for three straight

UPDATE, 12:43: The Rays lost another player to injury today with news that OF Brandon Guyer was placed on the 15-day DL due to a left hamstring strain. INF Nick Franklin was recalled from Durham, with the idea that Taylor Motter can play the OF as well. ... Cash said he wanted to give Conger three straight games behind the plate and there is nothing wrong with Casali.

DEVELOPING: The Rays are looking to make it three straight against the Twins today and, after dodging rain the last two days, they should be playing in sunshine all day.

Mikie Mahtook is starting again in centerfield, and moved to the top of the order with Brandon Guyer getting another day off.

LHP Drew Smyly will be on the mound, s coming off a rough May, where was 1-4, 7.18 in six starts, but believes a mechanical adjustment will improve his command of his off-speed pitches, which has been lacking. The Twins are starting RHP Tyler Duffey.
