For starters: Rays at Yankees, on a steamy afternoon
UPDATE, 10:59: CF Kevin Kiermaier said he feels "good enough" to be back in the Rays lineup, having missed Friday's game with the flu. ... Rookie RHP Ryan Garton said it was "a pretty cool" experience to be - potentially - the last pitcher to face Alex Rodriguez in his career. Even better was the seventh-inning groundout: "Thankfully I got him out.'' ... Cash said he was pleased with how comfortable Matt Duffy looked at SS in his debut. ... The Yankees will be without Brett Gardner, who was sore after being hit on the ankle by a Chris Archer pitch on Friday.
DEVELOPING: With a feels-like temperature forecast of 109 degrees, the Rays are set to take on the Yankees this afternoon on another eventful day at Yankee Stadium.
After Friday's forced farewell to Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees today are hosting a reunion/celebration of their 1996 World Series champoinship team, with Derek Jeter, Wade Boggs, Tino Martinez and Dwight Gooden among those slated to attend.
The Rays are starting RHP Matt Andriese, who is looking to solidify his spot in the 2017 rotation. The Yankees are starting Masahiro Tanaka.
