For starters: Rays at Yankees, with Myers at DH
UPDATE, 11:55: Maddon said he wanted to get Sam Fuld a start - albeit against tough Yankees LHP CC Sabathia - so Fuld is in RF and rookie Wil Myers is the DH for the first time.
Myers DHed only a few times at Triple-A Durham so he doesn't have much of a routine, but said he'll likely sit on the bench, and take advantage of the batting cage located just behind the dugout to prep.
Maddon's thinking was that if Fuld was in the lineup he wanted to have him on the field as well.
Maddon said David Price came through his first rehab start well, that he hit 96 mph at one point, and that the Rays should know by the end of today where his next start will be, presumably on Wednesday. They also may set a rehab schedule for RHP Brandon Gomes.
There was some buzz on the Yankees side this morning as Derek Jeter, who had been rehabbing from his ankle injury in Tampa, decided to shift his workouts to New York for the weekend and took BP, though there is no timeframe yet for his return,
Here is the lineup:
And for the Yankees:
DEVELOPING: After an unimpressive performance in Friday night's loss, the Rays are back on the field at Yankee Stadium for a 1 p.m. matinee against the Yankees with Alex Colome on the mound.
The story as much as anything Friday was their lack of run production, specifically in the fourth inning when they had the bases loaded with one out and got nothing out of it.
Lineups when available.
